Hey, hey! It’s Khàli LaBré!
It’s been a while since I posted a blog post, but now that school is over for me (for now), I’m getting back into blogging and my business ventures as a writer, a publisher (which has many hats), and a soon-to-be adjunct professor. That being said, I miss teaching and tutoring people online, so I’ve decided to take my qualifications to the next level! Why not teach people what I know when it comes to writing fiction? Have you been wanting to get into writing, but you don’t know where to start, or you don’t understand the writing process? Maybe you’ve been on Twitter or other social media outlets where you saw writers talking about things such as dev edits, second drafts, story arcs, or round characters. What does all of that stuff mean?
Well, I will help you with all of that by explaining everything you need to know to get started with writing your first fictional short story! I have a laidback approach to writing and I love to help people, so why not start the new year helping people learn how to do something they couldn’t think they could do?

My Fantastical Fiction Writing Course for Beginners is a 12-week course in which participants will receive a syllabus, and we will meet every week to learn about fiction and about different elements and conventions of what it takes to write a really good fictional story. Participants can choose any genre of fiction they are interested in writing in, and they will have a complete short story piece that can use for publishing or expound upon it to write a full-length novel. Participants will also receive peer review feedback, as well as feedback from me to help them improve their stories before the end of the course.
The course is a one-time payment of $120, and it starts on January 7, 2023, and will end on March 11, 2023, so we all will have plenty of time to prepare. We will meet on Zoom every Saturday (there’s a 10:00 am class, and a 5:00 pm class; Eastern Standard Time, you can only choose one time for the course), and there will be short assignments due just about every week just for a knowledge check. Only paying participants will receive a syllabus. Seating is limited, so be sure to snatch yours up quickly! There will be gift card prizes based on the top 3 best short stories at the end of the course.
This course is meant to be fun and relaxing for all of us, so bring your snacks and wine glasses, and blankets, and let’s do some writing and just chill out while creating our short stories. The good part is that I’ll be writing right alongside you, so we’re all in this together!
